Buddy Guy - Bring 'Em In Review

Buddy Guy - Bring 'Em In Review

The latest CD from the great Buddy Guy, Bring 'Em In, is a lesson in pure soul, and painful honesty.

There is no doubt that Buddy is winding down a great career in the blues. He has lost a few steps, but he still has great chops, and fabulous tone.

This CD, in many ways, represents an honest look into the painful divorce that Buddy is reputed to have gone through recently.

The CD starts off with the soulful, "Now You're Gone". This anthem gives you a glimpse into the suffering of the man, true blues, straight up. The vocal wraps around you as Buddy crys out. The honesty in Price You Gotta Pay will shake you up, and the hurt in Somebodys Been Sleeping In My Bed will make you think.

Buddy teams up with Carlos Santana and John Mayer. Tracy Chapman, Keith Richards, and Robert Randolph on several tracks, lending to some great guitar licks and vocal harmonies.

The vocals on this CD are outstanding, if not downright haunting. Buddy has never sounded so good. It is a great mix of blues and soul, and true Buddy Guy fans will want to hear it over and over again.

Buddy has aged well, and we can only hope he'll keep making great music like this for many years to come.
